What can’t you do with vise grip pliers? I’m currently repairing a pair of shoes where one sole is coming apart. Cole Haan shoes should come standard with a pair of these and some gorilla glue.

What can’t you do?

Most things, correctly.

Also Cole Haan’s suck since they got bought by Nike. I used to be a fan, I have returned to Mephisto though, they never fail me

You can’t hold your penis comfortably with them to urinate. That was a strange trip to the hospital.

You’re kidding!? I’ve been through 3 pair in just over a year. To be honest the only reason I keep buying them is because I don’t want to make the $ jump to Allen Edmunds.

This is not true. They just have to be adjusted to the correct size - and as large a pair as is needed. Remember, they never close more tightly than you set them.

They’re the best entrant in the “what crushing/bending/turning/screwing/pinching/hammering/pulling/holding tool is most likely to be within reach”, though. Hands down.

No idea what you’re talking about. I beat all of mine to shit and they survive just fine. None of them are dress shoes though, might be a different story there.

My toilet flush handle broke. Guess how I fixed that for the time being?

Haha no wonder cole haan’s are always on sale at Macy’s. I may as well just suck it up and get the pair of Allen Edmunds I’ve been wanting. Mephistos are great too, I had a pair that I boosted from my college roommate up until a year or two ago.

I will purchase a bigger set and experiment, but I’m not convinced.

ha I have had one pair last me almost a decade with a few resoles! Awesome shoes. Yeah CH game is weak these days. Comfy when you get them, but fall apart in a matter of months. Just like Nikes!

Sure you can, just needs to be hard enough, and you have to cut it on the tip of the vise grips, and slowly crank it down...

Vise-Grip Pliers?

Sure they’re handy, but why do I get the idea your battery terminal nuts are completely rounded off...

( j/k, lol, and all that net sarcasm speak )

Of course they are! that’s why I always have to use the vise grips!

Vice grip pliers: When you absolutely, positively must destroy everything you’re attempting to disassemble.

Alternately, if it’s a soft cheese like camembert (which it should be, Philistines), you can use the setting handle as a scoop with the Vise-Grips open.

The quality on new Vise-Grips has gone down significantly since they outsourced production to China a few years ago. I’ve since moved on to Knipex.

Gouda is a natural companion to the Vise Grips. Expended cheese wax can be made into psuedo cosmoline for protecting tools after it’s served with them. Fact.

You can’t not strip everything out.

But yes, they are useful. Only had like 1 pair on my last ship....it was terrible.
